Electrical Flat Rate tip of the day!
Today's Tip:
A Follow Up On my MLMSELLING.COM post
A couple of days ago, I listed a website www.mlmselling.com
and at first glance you might think, I am not a network marketer, I am not in a MLM, I want nothing to do with Multi level marketing, nor do I want to take any Network marketing classes or learn any mlm selling, or network marketing techniques.
Well, Agreed!
And, I am here to tell you that we can learn a lot from www.mlmselling.com not only is the copywriting enticing, but the actual product is based on the core of what we do as small and medium sized marketers.
These products work, and the auther MJ Durkin knows how to present the information in a clear easy to understand format.
so if you think Double your contacts, and MJ Live won't work for you..... Think again!

Today's Tip!
Lets talk about committment....
Are you truly committed to your business?
Do you have a genuine caring for your employees?
Are you leading with a positive attitude?
Are you bullsh*tting your self with the reports, and hoping that it will get better?
Are there choices that you need to make and are not making them?
When you answer the above questions, ask yourself one more question. "are my actions in line with what I am answering?"
If the answer is no, then you are bullshotting your self, and you need to make the correction before your Team will.
That's the hard truth!

Tip Of The Day:
Today's tip involves first impressions:
They say you never get a second chance to make a first impression! How true that is in our industry. Today's examples of just how important that is in our businesses, involves the CCR/CSR.
From the initial phone call coming into the company:
Is your Customer care/service representative, happy, calm and on their game?
Are they leading the call in a courteous manner?
Are they positive?
Are they setting up the Technician to win, by laying out what is going to happen when the Technician arrives?
Pay attention to your CCR/CSR's and watch your conversion rates go up!

Today's electrical flat rate tip.
As electrical flat rate contractors we have spent a ton of money on the various Telephone books.
Well, I never thought I would see it, or even admit it, but now it's the Internet!
If you are not on the Internet, you will be eaten up by those that are.
Your presence needs to be overwhelming.
Make sure you research marketing that works for the Internet. Just having a well produced web site is "NOT GOOD ENOUGH"! And some of you don't even have that.

Electric Flat Rate Tip OF The Day!
Today's Electrical Flat rate tip.
Is your Electric Flat Rate Company making follow up calls after every service call?
The importance of killing buyers remorse, and solidifying the overall experience, is part of the follow up call.
Use this time to ask some reference questions, such as:
Was the customer service rep cheerful and helpful?
Did the Technician wear his shoe booties when he was in your home?
Did HE/SHE answer all your questions, and explain everything that was done?
And how would you rate the overall service which you received from us, 10 being excellent, and 1 being poor?
Do have any comments that you would like me to note?
(FINAL QUESTION) Is there anything that we can do for you today?
Best of profit!

The Customer Service rep introduction. It is imperative that the phone is answered the same way every time.
The customer calling in hears your CSR Script for the first time, gets a great experience when the Tech does the work, hears from you after the fact, and maybe even gets a thank you card.
So why is the Script so important? When a repeat customer calls in, and they hear that script just as they did the first time. They already have it in their mind that the experience will be the same!

Electric flat rate tip of the day!
Today's electric flat rate tip, has to do with your advertising!
Put a unique 4 digit tracking number in every advertisement, flyer, telephone book, Internet ad, Internet email, business card etc. In the upper right hand corner of all of them.
Add the following line to your Customer Service persons script.
So may i ask you how you heard of us today?
(customer speaks)
Excellent, we are doing a marketing survey, would you please look in the upper right hand corner of our add, there is a 4 digit number, will you please read back that number to me.
Now, create a system to track all of these numbers, so you as the owner can see what is working, and how much revenue each campaign is creating for you.
For more details drop me an email, with your question.
Best of profit,

electrical flat rate tip of the day!
Electrical flat rate tip of the day!
Today's tip:
Warming up the customer.
Are your techs making enough conversation with the clients or are they jumping right into the call.
As owners we need to properly coach them, to stop there natural instincts to fix things, and teach them to make small talk.
This makes you a real person, in the customers eyes, and separates you from the rest of the yucks, in a truck.
As soon as you walk in the door, smile, make eye contact greet the customer with Mr./Mrs. (last name), introduce yourself as (your name) from (your service company) and find something to compliment them on.
Pet the dog, or the cat!
Say hello to the child.
Ask friendly non intrusive questions about an item or picture in the home.
The idea is to speak with them a good 5 minutes before doing any sort of business.
If offered a soda. tea, water or coffee. accept the water! and if asked to sit down. SIT!
They are looking you over and deciding if they want to have you in there home.
That's it for today, see ya tomorrow,

electric flat rate tip for today
Welcome back to my electric flat rate tip of the day!
Today's tip:
As soon as the Technician arrives at the door he should hand the customer a business card before trying to shake the customers hand.
Some customers may not want to shake your hand, thinking that they are dirty.

If a T-shirt is worn, it must be white with no writing.
Black or charcoal grey pants.
Black boots.
A black belt.
Shirt tucked in.
A company name badge, also with logo.
Shoe protector (hospital booties), drop me a line and I will tell you where you can buy them.
A red mat immediately rolled out upon entering the house.
A clean shaved tech (no facial hair)
Clean cut short hair for male techs. Hair pulled back for female techs.
A SMILE
A pleasing confident voice.
An invoice pad and clipboard.
A separate YELLOW note pad.
A clean flat rate book.
These are just a few. For more drop me an email.

So Flat Rate is new to you?
Today's Tip!
Electrical Flat Rate Pricing has been around for years. Long before we constructed price guides, we All had them. Your 100 amp, 200 amp Service prices are a great example of it. How about your per unit pricing, that you used for figuring your quick takeoffs. In the commercial world we would have our per unit price, and assembly prices for figuring multi-million dollar bids. So if you are new at this, remember that you have been doing this for years. Get all the conversations out of your head about this being new, weird or different. If you have set everything up properly, you now have a price book, and have calculated your true hourly break even. By making this shift solid in your mind, your Technicians, and Customers will know that this is just what it is. A professional well organized, honest service business.

Welcome to electric flat rate pricing
Welcome to electric flat rate pricing. My name is Jim Kavallines, and I am a consultant and speaker in the Flat rate service and repair business. Up until 2003, I owned the largest pure electrical flat rate service company in the state of CT. If you have a flat rate service company, or are thinking of starting one, you came to the right place. I will be posting a tips, that deals either with your technicians, customer service, pricing, flat rate book, break even, and a whole array of other items.
Tip #1
Most of us spend extensive time training our techs to sell. Have you ever just reminded them that they are the expert, and to offer the customer three solutions to there problem, so the customer can shop your three quotes, instead of sending you home with a dispatch fee only?
Tip #2
When figuring your break even, are you also including past debt, profit, and funds for expansion such as a new truck, tools, training costs. etc.
Tip #3
When a customer service rep is having a hard time booking a call, and has exhausted all of the scripts, do they turn the call over to a more qualified Manager, who has the ability & skills, to save the call?
Thank you for reading my posts! Hope you enjoyed todays tips. If you want to send me a personal email you may do so jim@abscousa.com
